AWAKEN Location Info
Updated July 15, 2024
AWAKEN 2024 GPS Coordinates:
Awaken 2024 is very near the location of last year. This is NOT a renegade event. It is taking place on private land and is fully and officially permitted with local government. We are very lucky to have a landowner who is willing to allow us to use this land. We ask that you please be as gentle on it as possible, leave no litter, and adhere to our strict rule of no open flames\fires and no OHV use. Please review our rules\guidelines at the bottom of the Awaken info page.
The new location is right on the main road that runs the west edge of the island. Almost any vehicle, RV, or Trailer can get here. The main road is full of washboards so go slow for the Approximately 14 miles of road after you leave I-80.
The directions on the pics and below begin from I-80 Westbound at exit 84-Grantsville.
Leave I-80 westbound at Exit 84-Grantsville.
right after the exit you will come to an intersection, turn left onto Salt Road\Stansbury Island Road. You will cross the railroad tracks twice within a very short distance. This road is an old, paved road. It’s full of potholes. Be careful and watch for them. We marked the worst ones with orange paint. You will remain on this road for about 14 miles. It will turn into a wide semi-maintained gravel road. About the time you pass the Hadco aggregate pit the road will become less maintained. Any vehicle can make it out there, but We wouldn’t recommend riding your luxury ride. It’s perfectly suited for any SUV, Truck, etc. High clearance and 4wd is NOT needed.
We estimate that trail time from the Saltair area on I-80 is about 50-60 minutes of driving to the Awaken 2024 location.
Once you arrive here, we will have greeters that will check your IDs and scan your tix. Have them ready. You will also be given some information, and a required liability release will be signed.
Camping is an a very open area with low vegetation. There are many level areas but it would be good if you bring leveling blocks. Generators are welcome but please try to minimize the impact they have on your neighbors. We know that some of that “noise
” is unavoidable. Camping is on a first come first serve basis and we do not have designated spots. This is primitive camping so bring EVERYTHING you need to enjoy your stay.
For tent campers there is actually some shade. There are many cedar trees on the opposite side of the road, so we welcome you to park your cars on the festival side of the road and set up your tents wherever you think best. Again, please no fires.
We will have a site map up tomorrow, so you know the layout of the camp\festival.
